Care Packages Provided – Week 3

Spennymoor Town Council carried out its third care package project today.  This saw staff attend Morrisons, with the permission of Cllr Ian Geldard – who you can see on the till, so yes he does actually work for a living – and again carry out a shopping trip with no restrictions.   His colleague Joanne kindly rustled us up a free donation of four boxes of gingerbread people. Over £1000 was spent, £500 of which was donated by Livin who also provided a list of vulnerable residents.   After 47 care packages were put together and delivered, the remainder of the shopping was delivered to the Spennymoor Youth and Community Centre, which will now be taking over from the Town Council in dealing with the public and pulling packages together for delivery.  The Town Council will also be donating over £1,200 to this project.
