Born in 1994, in Newcastle, Wood graduated from Newcastle College with a degree in Art and Design and completed his BA Honours in Fine Art at Falmouth University.
Themes for Sam’s work are taken from everyday surroundings of life and places, which manifest through the people and architecture of Newcastle and history of North East industry.
Realism is Wood’s main driving force, but he feels as it is important to create mood and atmosphere through his work, connecting to the viewer’s emotions as well as strong representation of the subject.
