I am a printmaker and photographer, working in the North of England and Cornwall. Most of my recent work has been in printmaking. I produce prints by etching and engraving metal plates and then printing from these using a traditional etching press.
I studied at London University in the 1970s gaining degrees in chemistry and training to be a science teacher. Since then I have worked as a teacher and more recently, after moving to the North East, as a lecturer at Sunderland University. Throughout this time I have maintained a strong interest in photography, working with traditional film and and pinhole cameras.
Over the last two years I have been working on printmaking, mostly steel plate etchings. Currently I do most of my printing at Northern Print in Newcastle.
I was the winner of the Peter Weldon purchase prize in the Northern Print Footprints 2015 exhibition
